Improv Olympics Provisos

Provisos:
- Use the Rules of Improv©:
- Always say “YES” (do not deny what has been created on the stage).
- After saying “YES” add to the scene.
- Always make your partner look good.
- Use Acting Basics©:
- The body should face the audience.
- The voice must be heard AND understood.
- Rock-N-Roll is bad (No swaying from side to side, shaking, tapping your feet, rocking back and forth. Hold your ground. Move when necessary. Eye contact).
- Take a RISK!
- Use variety in the Vocal Techniques of PAVE PEPI©: Pitch, Articulation, Volume, Expression, Pace, Enunciation, Pause & Intensity.
- Use variety in the Physical Techniques of GTELLFS©: Gesture, Tableau, Energy, Locomotion, Levels, Stillness, Facial Expression.
- Teams must have an name and designate one participant as “Team Leader.”
- Teams consist of 4-5 participants, have an adult sponsor and/or an adult who accompanies the team.
- Teams must send application, fee of $15.00 (check or money order only) and permission slips to Kulture Kids in ONE package.
- Once accepted to Olympics, teams will receive event information. Team Leader is responsible for reviewing event directives and assigning members to participate in various events.
- All team members must wear similar colors/clothing (e.g. red shirt/blue jeans). School colors and logo-ed clothing are encouraged.
- Props, Costumes or anything else not provided by Olympic committee are not permitted to be used during events.
- Teams must check in at the Cleveland Play House at between 11:30am - 12:00pm and be ready for Opening Ceremony and Warm Up by 12:00.
- Upon arrival at the Cleveland Play House, Team Leader must direct team to design and construct Olympic Banner for opening and closing ceremonies.
- Teams must be in assigned performance space “ready to go” at 12:30pm sharp!
- If team is not ready-to-go on time, that event is forfeit.
- The rules of your school apply during these Olympics. Keep the content PG-13.
- No “PAWS©” (Profanity, references to Alchol or drugs, Weapons, Sexual innuendo or intentional humilation of another person).
- A participant whose character or conduct violates these rules will be asked to leave the Olympics and the Cleveland Play House immediately.
